Avantis: E-motors, competence center and test laboratory

In the German-Dutch Avantis industrial park, where ENGIRO has its production site for electric motors, a test laboratory for drive batteries will be built from January 2021. Together with TÜV Rheinland, the ConAC company is investing 22 million euros in this project. It is an innovative addition to the competence center for sustainable mobility, in which the PEM-motion and the PEM* chair of the RWTH along with other partners form the core. "Bundled knowledge from research, development and engineering and a strong combination of technical expertise and project experience in the fields of batteries, fuel cells and electric motors" is how Prof. Kampker describes the competence center, of which he is the main initiator. Achim Kampker is also the main shareholder of the PEM Group and is therefore responsible for the subsidiary ConAC. As a co-founder of the street scooter in electromobility and as a RWTH professor, he is an established figure. ENGIRO is pleased about this positive development in the immediate vicinity, which Avantis will also establish as a location for electromobility. There are already some starting points and upcoming collaborations.
