TWINGEN premiers in Amsterdam

ENGIRO presents marine range extender

With more than 1,300 exhibitors and over 19,000 trade visitors from the „maritime industry“ sector the METSTRADE 2013 in Amsterdam was the ideal platform to present ENGIRO’s latest development for the first time: the TWINGEN RE 20-2 marine. With its dual generator of 2 x 10 kW the TWINGEN RE 20-2 marine is world’s first range extender for electrical, twin-engined drive-trains (as in catamarans, motor jachts, etc.)

„Plug & Play – the mobile and extremely compact unit allows a quick operation. With the size of approximately two beer crates and only 64 kg it offers numerous possible applications“ outlines Dr. Werner, head of the project. Functioning as „energy pack“ the product group „marine range extenders“ widens the range of products for boats powered by electricity. They are a useful addition whether to supply hydraulic equipment on racing yachts or as backup solution on sailing boats.
Unsurprisingly, LeBreton, manufacturer of innovative racing and luxury yachts showcased TWINGEN at their booth. Co-owner Mr. Haerri presented the simple handling and effectiveness to the interested audience personally. His résumé: „groundbreaking idea, perfect technology, outstanding quality – all-‚Made in Germany’.
